Lenten Devotions –

6th graders should be doing Do Great House of God, by Max Lucado, as devotional with parents.

7-8th graders should be doing the Apostle’s Creed devotional with their parents.

Easter Prayer Vigil – sign-up to come to church with just your family to spend an hour in prayer sometime after Good Friday service (April 14) and before the Saturday Easter Vigil service (April 15).

 Glass Crosses @ Studio Fusion in April.  We’ll be heading down to Studio Fusion in Fort Dodge to make melted glass crosses.  Cost is $13.  Leave at 2:30, return by 4:30.  Please let Pastor Lissa know by the Monday prior if your youth will be attending.  Youth can bring money for the crosses that day.

5-12th grades –will go down after school Wednesday, April 5th.

7-12th graders will go down Wednesday, April 12th.


5-6th grades :

High School Movie night – The Shack – At the Humboldt movie theater April 7th, 7 pm.  After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips spirals into a deep depression that causes him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever.  Others are welcome to join us!  We’ll enjoy ice cream afterwards as we talk about the movie.

Palm Sunday Aebelskiver Breakfast – April 9th – this year, we’ll be doing a Palm Sunday Aebelskiver breakfast instead of the Easter breakfast.  Please plan on helping out that day and learning how to make this tasty Danish tradition!  Look for sign-up sheets to prep, make, & clean-up.

Beacon of Hope – April 23rd – Families with all ages of youth .  Serving supper at the homeless shelter in Fort Dodge.  Leave here at 4 pm.  Sign-up on the bulletin board outside the office to serve and/or provide food.

 Youth Musical – April 29-30 during worship hours.

Summer opportunity for those going into 7-8th grade next fall – Klein Ranch (ELCA) horsecamp in the beautiful rolling hills near Isabel, SD.  It’s the only camp I know of where you can still gallop and ride possie-style, shoulder to shoulder  – no trail-riding here!  June 25-30.  Cost is $500 if you register before Apr. 15, and $550 after.  $125 deposit needed at the time of registration, the rest by June 10.  To register, go to http://www.losd.org/summer-camp/klein/programs.html  Wagon leaves early Sunday morning (6 am) from Our Saviour’s for the 9-hour drive to camp.  Sign-up in the office to get a ride to camp and back.  Men’s group will provide $200 scholarship.

Grunge Days are days where we do a half day of volunteer work somewhere and a half day of fun.  Adults are invited to come along, too!  See schedule above for dates and locations.  Sign-up one week in advance of each date on the bulletin board outside the office or send an email to pastorlissakahl@gmail.com.  Bring your own water bottle, snacks and lunch for the day.  Minneapolis trip to Global Health Ministries will require additional money for supper and optional activities TBD.

August 11 – Snoozing Under the Sea – Sleeping Bag Safari, Omaha Zoo, Scott Aquarium.   Overnight program where guests spend the night at the zoo and get to experience our exhibits afterhours. It includes an evening hike, conservation games, evening movie and snack, morning hike, and a free day at the zoo. Small Group Safaris are open to community groups and families with a maximum of 24 participants. 7th grade and older.  $42
